Apple Music is introducing new top music charts for regional and global markets, reports Rolling Stone. Starting today, the music service will offer up 116 "Daily Top 100" charts that display the top-streamed songs on Apple Music.
As part of the suite of features in iOS and iPadOS 14.5, Apple earlier this week rolled out a brand new set of Apple Music playlists that lists the top 25 songs in more than 100 cities around the world (City Charts); making it one of the first streaming platforms to spotlight the music making waves in over 100 cities around the world.

Billboard, which receives its data from Nielsen Music, now weighs paid vs. ad-supported streams (i.e., on Spotify, Deezer), programmed streams (Pandora), and music video streams (YouTube), among other factors.
Further, the charts are set to be updated daily at 3am ET/12am PT. Regarding subscriber numbers, Apple last reported that its music streaming service has 40 million users worldwide, while Spotify, which also offers a free tier, sits at roughly 83 million paid Premium subscribers. 2ff7e9595c
